The worship that we offer to Lord Vinaka in order that all our activities and undertakings meet with success unhindered by any huddles, is alone known as ' Ganapathy Homam' that is, the oblations offered to Lord Vinayaka. This is done by chanting the basic mystic name of the Lord propitiating him by offering such delicacies as pancake ( appam) made of rice, sweet or savoury made of rice and jaggery, sweet dumping ball of dough (kolukkattai), etc. .. Chanting this mystic formula 1008 times and offering oblations to the divine is alone the essence of ' Ganapathy Homam.' If one performs this worship, the huddles one faces in one's business undertakings will be warded off, success in life, the economic welfare, the family well being conferred on one.
